Mimi and her pursuit of misplaced memories are depicted solely by the words of the story read out loud (and a ticking clock) which are then manipulated in time and space.

The first release by quills that whisper is an extreme experiment in audio-based storytelling. Telling a story about a woman whose perception of time fluctuates outside of her control and her subsequent attempt to recall her own forgotten yesterday, the piece plays with voice recordings fluctuating in speed as a form of representing the story.

It examines what composing does or can mean within a time-based art form by using nothing but a voice reading words (and a ticking clock), to engage with pacing which is the primary concern when a composition is being structured.

Una Lee is an artist working with sounds, stories and sensations, in perpetual pursuit of ways for alternative storytelling. She seeks innovation in the contemporary marriage between performance and poetry through her ever-evolving eclectic practice blending music, performance art, theatre practice, creative writing and digital technology. Her work explores human condition, memory, time, and our relationship with art and ecology in manifold strata with narratives often drawn from her autobiographical events and her present identity as non-native in her current habitat.
