especially the maternal line;
objects,
stories,
smells,
trauma,
personality traits,
wisdom and beauty.

'Inheritance' is an audio storytelling work which ponders on the innermost sensation of being a female member of a family. Entirely based on real stories and autobiographical events, the piece reveals personal histories of a woman and her family through spoken words and visual accompaniments. Past intimate moments culminate in the present which the artist lays out in front of our ears and eyes.

JJ Devereaux is an artist, usually working with storytelling, embodiment and Virtual Reality; Massage therapist, writer, costume designer and SpaceCat.
